Every company benefit dollar is too important to be wasted by un-noticed “HR Process Infrastructure leaks“. Benefit Plan Infrastructure Leaks are defined as areas of the benefit plan management processes where benefit dollars are wasted due to inadequate process “checks and balances”, lack of oversight or staffing, inadequate data, or faulty process design and controls. One example of the largest infrastructure leaks is continuing to provide healthcare benefits to ineligible dependents year after year. The mission statement of Maggio Solutions is to provide a suite of processes that will enable the HR department to identify, contain, and fix these leaks of precious benefit dollars.

Maggio Solutions is the nation’s largest supplier of the Dependent Eligibility Audit Process (DEA) to third-party administrators, brokerage firms and individual companies of all sizes. TPA’s and brokerages use our process to audit more companies than any single outsourced DEA auditing solution in the US. Maggio Solutions provides an alternative to outsourcing individual audits to specialty, high-priced DEA audit firms. The dependent eligibility audit process is so critical to a company that it should be performed by the company itself, or by its trusted administrator or broker, rather than handing the process over to an unknown auditing firm. History

Maggio Solutions, Inc. began its history as Maggio & Associates Brokerage firm, founded in 1981. Maggio & Associates offered a wide-range of benefit services, with a primary focus in partially self-funded plan design and management that optimized the benefit dollars of clients. Maggio & Associates succeeded by constantly refreshing and analyzing customer data to locate inefficiencies and implement changes that maximized customer dollars.

By 2006 the cost and impact of ineligible dependents upon the healthcare insurance costs of Maggio & Associate’s customers caused us to seek out a DEA service provider in an effort to drive customer insurance costs lower.

During our search we discovered that the largest DEA providers were not only high cost, but unwilling to provide their services to companies with fewer than 1000 dependents. Those DEA providers that would service companies with fewer than 1,000 dependents charged dramatically higher rates to smaller firms, making their services unattractive. With no commercial offerings to address the needs of our customers, Maggio & Associates found it unable to support its customers with the services necessary to address a large and growing problem.

In 2007 we formed Maggio Solutions, Inc to provide dependent eligibility audits and other important cost saving services to businesses. Our deep experience in the health insurance industry enabled us to create a self-audit kit for companies, which we soon augmented with a DEA Process for Administrators offering. Maggio Solutions now offers a fully automated DEA process for TPA’s and brokerage firms and even a micro-audit package for the smallest of companies who need help in managing the DEA process in-house. As a recognized leader in providing tools and processes to manage the DEA burden, Maggio Solutions is positioned to support the nation’s growing healthcare oversight and management needs.
